What would you do if you survived a suicide attempt, woke up in an insane asylum, were told that you had a week or less to live because the sleeping pills had damaged your heart, and discovered that you did want to live? Another good read by Paulo Coelho – thought-provoking, insightful, meaningful, enjoyable. Click on the book to read more about it.
I was reading Paulo Coelho heavily during the time I went through your Purpose seminar. Starting with The Alchemist, then moving on to The Pilgrimage, The Zahir, and Eleven Minutes, his stories consistently walk you through other people’s journeys of self-discovery and growth. Even though his characters are dealing with some heavy stuff, his ultimate optimism comes through and really leaves you with the sense that life is good. I’m a huge fan (can you tell?)! Several people have recommended Veronika Decides to Die, so I’ll have to put that one on my list.
